Kristof Hahn jest niemieckim gitarzystą, kompozytorem i tłumaczem. Mieszka i pracuje w Berlinie.
Hahn jest najbardziej znany z gry na lap steel guitar w nowojorskim zespole eksperymentalno-rockowym Swans. Był członkiem zespołu w latach 1989 - 1992. Został stałym członkiem po reaktywacji Swans w 2010.
Hahn jest również założycielem berlińskich zespołów Les Hommes Sauvages i Sultans of Gedankebrain oraz współpracował z wieloma artystami o różnym doświadczeniu, takimi jak Alex Chilton, Tav Falco, Thomas Wydler i Pere Ubu. Jego podejście do lap steel guitar jest mniej zakorzenione w tradycjach, a bardziej zorientowane na drony, tworząc rozległe pejzaże, które czasami wybuchają dźwiękowymi burzami, a innym razem rozpływają się w eterycznych melodiach.
Muzyka Hahna to muzyka powtórzeń i rozwijającej się wariacji, niespokojna, ale nigdy pospieszna czy niedbała. Nie boi się pozwolić swoim kompozycjom narastać, ewoluować i ostatecznie ukazać się z poczuciem swobodnej, spokojnej determinacji.

Kristof Hahn is a German guitarist, composer, and translator. He lives and works in Berlin.
Hahn is best known for playing lap steel guitar in the New York-based experimental rock band Swans. He was a member of the band from 1989 to 1992, becoming a permanent member after Swans' reunion in 2010.
Hahn is also a founding member of the Berlin-based bands Les Hommes Sauvages and Sultans of Gedankebrain, and has collaborated with numerous artists of varying backgrounds, such as Alex Chilton, Tav Falco, Thomas Wydler, and Pere Ubu. His approach to lap steel guitar is less rooted in tradition and more oriented toward drones, creating expansive soundscapes that sometimes erupt into sonic storms and other times dissolve into ethereal melodies.
Hahn’s music is one of repetition and unfolding variation, it is unsettled, but never rushed or careless.
He knows that music is an art form of time and is not afraid to allow his compositions to build, evolve and finally arrive with a casual sense of hushed determination.
