The TAAHM & VA 36th Annual Benefit Fundraiser is a distinguished evening dedicated to celebrating heritage, honoring service, and strengthening community impact. Hosted by the Tangipahoa African American Heritage Museum in partnership with Veterans Affairs advocates, this signature event brings together civic leaders, legal professionals, veterans, educators, and supporters from across the region for an inspiring and meaningful experience.Scheduled for Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 5:00 PM at the Southeastern Louisiana University Ballroom, the fundraiser will feature a formal program highlighted by keynote remarks from James Carter, Esq., the President-Elect of the National Bar Association. Guests will enjoy an elegant atmosphere, dynamic presentations, and opportunities to connect with community stakeholders who share a commitment to cultural preservation, education, and veterans’ support.
For 36 years, this annual benefit has served as a vital source of funding for:
Educational programs and youth initiatives
Cultural preservation and historical exhibits
Scholarships and community outreach efforts
Supportive initiatives recognizing and assisting veterans
More than a fundraiser, the event is a celebration of legacy, leadership, and collective progress—uniting generations in support of history, service, and opportunity.
The evening promises inspiration, fellowship, and a shared commitment to sustaining the museum’s mission for years to come.
