Yoga is often portrayed as a practice to balance our stressful everyday life, a way to find more peace and relaxation. While all of that is valid, you can also find discipline, personal transformation, and social change through the teachings of Yoga. The original meaning of the word ‘Yoga’ can be translated as ‘Focus’ or ‘Concentration’. In an overwhelming world, where everything is pulling our attention at once, we can easily fall out of focus and lose commitment. When everything is important, the capacity to choose diminishes. It can be challenging to direct our energy towards one goal, undistracted. 🔥Join our 3-week morning challenge:

Julia is a Yin Yoga and Vinyasa teacher based in Berlin. She tried many career paths before finding her home in teaching Yoga. She was a caretaker, bartender and host, cultural scientist, food-truck-co-founder and personal assistant. All these paths influence the way she holds space and welcome people to her classes today. Towards the end of my twenties, she started to feel more and more lost and like a bystander in her own life. Trying to do everything at once and to exceed in it, she exhausted herself and realized that she was in a state of constant improvisation, always on the outside and with little sense of self and no stability. Yoga helped her to center and ground herself and explore her true needs, desires and potential. Now she is trying to live a simpler life from a perception of fullness. To chase less, and build more from within. It was a long and interesting journey from my first experiences of yoga practice 15 years ago, to finally becoming a teacher myself. She did her teacher training with Spirit Yoga in 2018. Two years later she became a certified Yin Yoga teacher with Valerie Hartwich and Liina Tael.
