About the Practice
The program focuses on ancient meditation techniques that develop deep self-awareness through observing the breath and bodily sensations. Silence and mindfulness help you turn inward, gain mental clarity, calmness, and balance, and deepen your personal spiritual experience.
Retreat Details
- Actual location: A quiet and scenic location by Gull Lake (1.5 hours from Calgary & Edmonton)
- Dates: January 15–18
Daily Schedule
Thursday
Arrival & Welcome: Participants arrive, settle in, and get oriented to the retreat environment.
Introduction to Vipassana Practice: Overview of techniques, guidelines, and expectations for the retreat.
Evening Chanting: Om mantra chanting to set a mindful tone and create a sense of community.
Friday-Saturday
Morning: Wake up, Tibetan prostrations, and meditation to start the day with clarity and presence. Morning Hatha yoga to awaken the body and enhance flexibility.
Midday: Breakfast with nourishing vegetarian food, followed by a meditative and nature walk to connect with the surroundings and deepen mindfulness.
Afternoon: Hatha yoga and pranayama session to strengthen the body-breath connection. Free time for reflection, journaling, or reading spiritual literature.
Evening: Dinner, followed by seated or walking meditation. Evening walk to wind down the day in quiet awareness. Close the day with Om mantra chanting and Shavasana for deep relaxation.
Sunday
Morning: Wake up, Tibetan prostrations, and Anapanasati meditation. Morning Hatha yoga to gently prepare the body for departure.
Midday: Breakfast with wholesome vegetarian food.
Late Morning: Closing with silence and sharing reflections. Participants have the opportunity to discuss experiences and insights gained during the retreat.
Departure: Farewell and organized transportation back to Calgary and Edmonton.
Additional Information
Meals: Vegetarian, two meals per day, well-balanced and nourishing.
Transfer: Organized transportation is available from Calgary and Edmonton.

Quad Room (shared, 4 beds): $500 / bed + fees
