First Aid at Work - Level 3 (RQF) Training Course
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A 3-DAY COURSE FROM 11TH-13TH MARCH
This three-day First Aid at Work course is designed for workplaces with complex hazards, larger teams, or employees working with the public. Participants will gain the essential skills and confidence to handle emergencies and provide life-saving care until professional help arrives.
Course Overview
- Regulated Level 3 award (RQF), accredited by Ofqual.
- Covers key first aid principles, emergency response, and life support techniques.
- Practical, hands-on training—casual clothing (e.g., trousers) is recommended.
- Suitable for up to 12 participants per session, delivered at your premises or an alternative venue.
Course Content
- Emergency response & legal responsibilities
- Basic Life Support (CPR) & AED use
- Managing wounds, burns, fractures & choking
- Treatment of major illnesses (heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes)
- Anaphylaxis & poisoning management
Assessment & Certification
- Continuous practical assessment & a short written test
- Must be physically fit to perform CPR and other practical tasks
- Certification valid for three years
- Annual refresher training recommended
This course ensures your team is well-prepared to handle workplace medical emergencies with confidence and competence.
The course will include sessions on:
- Aims & principles of first aid
- Health & Safety law & First Aid Regulations
- What to do in an emergency
- Management of the unconscious casualty
- Assessment & treatment of a casualty who is wounded or bleeding
- Assessment & treatment of burns & scalds
- Dealing with seizures
- Choking (Adult)
- Resuscitation (Adult CPR) & use of an AED
- Fractures
- Poisoning
- Anaphylaxis
- Major illnesses (heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes, etc.)
