About this Event

----------------------------------------------

We’ve all experienced the pain of craving and attachment, and many people in the modern world suffer from some type of addiction.

From a Buddhist perspective, craving and attachment are "deluded" states of mind that mistakenly believe things which are not true causes of happiness to be actual causes of happiness. As a result of this mistaken belief, an uncontrollable desire to acquire and hold onto these objects arises, causing the immediate suffering of craving, along with other painful states of mind such as fear of missing out (FOMO). But even if we do manage to obtain our objects of desire, since these things are impermanent and not real sources of happiness, we inevitably experience the pains of frustration, discontent, fear of loss, and anxiety.

During this 3-class series, we will explore Buddha’s profound teachings on how to free ourselves from this cycle of craving and attachment, learning practical methods which are designed to:

  • Identify clearly the craving and attachment within your own mind
  • Understand how these states of mind are behind our suffering and dissatisfaction
  • Learn to weaken the power of these delusions through increasing your wisdom
  • Cultivate genuine contentment, inner peace, and acceptance

Each class includes:
  • Guided Meditations: Learn calming and transformative meditations that help to reduce the power of attachment and cultivate genuine contentment
  • Practical Teachings: Receive accessible, step-by-step advice on how to recognise, reduce, and eventually abandon attachment, enabling you to maintain a peaceful mind modern daily life
  • Question & Answer: Feel free to hang back after class and have your questions answered to ensure that you walk away from the course knowing how to apply what you've learnt with confidence

No prior experience or particular religious beliefs are necessary to attend this series – everyone is welcome!

BOOK THE WHOLE 3-CLASS SERIES AT THE SPECIAL RATE OF $43 (20% off) or per class at the standard rate of $18 per person.
