AAPI.Unite Presents: "Unity at the Table" – A Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration
Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, a time for family, unity, and community, with this hands-on mooncake and moon cookie-baking class. Guided by the Founder of Philly Cookie Company, you’ll explore traditional techniques and creative modern twists that bring together cultural heritage and innovation. No experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm!

Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with Mooncakes & Moon Cookies
The Mid-Autumn Festival is a special time for families—whether they are born into or chosen—to come together and celebrate unity and connection. Mooncakes symbolize the tradition of sharing and are enjoyed to honor togetherness during this time. In this AAPI.Unite series, you’ll learn to bake mooncakes and moon cookies, combining Asian traditions with Philly’s unique culinary influences.
What You’ll Experience:<h4>Mooncake & Moon Cookie-Baking Class – $88/Person</h4>
A 2-hour class slot where you’ll create both traditional mooncakes and modern moon cookies:
- Create 4 Signature Treats:
- (2) Traditional Mooncakes: Made with a classic mooncake dough and lotus paste base, but with a modern twist in the fillings: Salted Egg Yolk with Sunny’s Hot Chili and Peach Pork Floss.
- (2) Moon Cookies: A modern creation featuring Philly Cookie Company’s all-butter shortbread dough, filled with Coconut Almond and Pumpkin 5-Spice, offering a delightful alternative to traditional mooncake dough.
- Mooncake Molds: Take home your own set of mooncake molds as a lasting keepsake.
- Commemorative Box: Beautifully package your creations to share with family and friends.
- One Drink Included: Enjoy a refreshing beverage during class, with additional drinks available for purchase.
- Apron to Keep: A take-home apron to remember your experience.
- Cultural Storytelling: Learn about the Mid-Autumn Festival, its significance, and how modern flavors breathe new life into traditional treats.
- All Materials Provided: Ingredients, molds, and packaging will be supplied to ensure you have a full and enjoyable experience.
The VIP Experience includes both the exclusive 12:00 - 12:30 PM session and the full 12:30 - 2:30 PM class, offering you an extended and more immersive baking journey:
- Mix Your Own Dough: During the VIP session (12:00 - 12:30 PM), you’ll create mooncake dough from scratch, learning the delicate techniques behind it.
- Exclusive Larger Molds: Use VIP-only molds to craft larger, more intricate mooncakes weighing 100 grams each.
- Take-Home Dough & Fillings: Bring home dough and fillings to bake your own mooncakes at home.
- Two Drinks Included: Enjoy additional refreshments during your VIP experience.
- Full 2-Hour Class: In addition to the VIP session, you’ll participate in the 12:30 - 2:30 PM Mooncake & Moon Cookie-Baking Class, making both traditional mooncakes and moon cookies.

Ticket Includes Entry to AAPI.Unite Monthly Mixer (9/21, 5:30 - 7 PM)
Your ticket also includes entry to the AAPI.Unite Monthly Mixer at Far East Descendant on September 21st from 5:30 - 7 PM. This mixer brings together AANHPI entrepreneurs, small business owners, friends, and allies to connect, uplift, and support each other. After the mixer, head to Chinatown to enjoy the dragon dance, lion dance, and the lantern festival—the perfect ending to your Mid-Autumn celebration!
