Something extraordinary is coming to Northern BC!Join us for the 2SLGBTQIA+ Voices & Culture Summit, a groundbreaking, community-centered cultural gathering filled with storytelling, creativity, and celebration. This event brings together 2SLGBTQIA+ community members, artists, advocates, and service providers from across the region.
Morning 10:00am to 4:00pm – Community Arts & Learning
Dive into a full day of interactive panels, hands-on workshops, and collaborative community projects featuring powerful lived-experience stories from 2SLGBTQIA+ people across Northern BC. Create, learn, and connect through fun workshops, shared storytelling, and participatory spaces, with the Voices & Culture Art Gallery open throughout the day for exploration and reflection.
Join us for a variety of exciting and empowering workshops including:
“The Magic of Drag!” - explore drag as performance, identity, and creative power.
“Wiggle without Apology; Beautiful on Purpose” - movement, embodiment, and joyful self-expression.
These workshops focus on creativity, confidence, play, and authentic queer expression.
Engage with speakers at our interactive panels:
Pride Organizers Panel: Hear from Pride organizers across Northern BC as they share what it takes to build safer, louder, and more joyful queer spaces. This panel explores grassroots activism, community challenges, sustainability, and what Pride really looks like in northern and rural communities.
Two-Spirit Identity & Expression Panel: This panel centers Indigenous voices in a conversation about what it means to be Two-Spirit today. Panelists explore identity, culture, art, and lived experience — how Two-Spirit identity is expressed personally and creatively, and how it shapes resilience, belonging, and community.
Entertainment & Creative Pathways Panel: Artists, performers, and creatives discuss making space in the entertainment world as queer people in the North. From drag and music to fashion and performance art, this panel explores storytelling, visibility, and turning passion into impact.
This daytime experience is open to anyone curious about queer life in Northern BC! Whether you’re looking to deepen your understanding of 2SLGBTQIA+ lived experiences, explore new perspectives, or contribute your own voice in real time, the Summit invites you to be part of the conversation.
Evening Gala 7:00pm to 1:00am – Celebration & Culture
Celebrate Northern BC’s vibrant queer community with an evening of performances, including drag, burlesque, live music, and more.
A featured highlight of the evening is Project Slay, a live-judged fashion showcase inspired by Project Runway. This interactive event blends design, performance, and storytelling, with participants presenting original looks before a live judging panel.
Explore the Voices & Culture Gallery, the night market, and enjoy a never-before-seen film teaser from the upcoming Queer History Project. The evening concludes with the dazzling Voices & Culture Gala — a night of pride, art, and shared experience you won’t forget.
