This is the third of the 2025 Winter Hike Series. If you haven’t yet, make our winter hikes your annual winter tradition with friends and family, including the four-legged ones.Walk the Oak and/or Hickory trails, then warm up with hot drinks and chili.
Trail conditions will vary based on weather; be prepared with appropriate footwear to hike in muddy, snowy, or icy and slippery conditions. Hickory Trail is about 1.5 miles long. Oak Trail is about 1 mile long. Most hikers will finish in about an hour. Those who wish to enjoy hot drinks and refreshments should start the trail between 10:00 a.m. and noon. Refreshments will be served from 10:30 until 12:30 p.m.

Begin your day at either trail or pick up a trail map in the nature center.

What to Bring
Potable water is not available at this location. Bring your own drinking water.
Pets
Well-mannered pets may join us during this program – however, they are not allowed inside the nature center nor on Oak Trail. They are welcome on Hickory Trail and other areas of the park. They must be under control at all times and on a leash no longer than 6’. For the health and safety of all, pick up and properly dispose of pets’ waste.

If severe weather is forecast or before traveling a long distance to attend, it is recommended you check to be sure the program has not been canceled, postponed, or rescheduled.
