Although the cold stops many animals from being active, late February to early March is prime time for amphibians to mate and lay eggs! After a storytime, learn about the differences between a toad, frog, salamander, and a newt, and what their eggs look like. Then, we may go outside to listen for some of their whistles, croaks, ribbits, and peeps. If we’re lucky, we may even find some wood frog eggs! So, wear clothing appropriate for the weather including footwear that will keep your feet dry.
This program is best suited for young ones ages 10 and under; all families are welcome.
