2nd Film Industry Networking Potluck – Hosted by Ascent Stories

Join us for the 2nd Film Industry Networking Potluck hosted by Ascent Stories — an evening of connection, creativity, and community with fellow filmmakers, actors, writers, producers, and industry professionals.

After the wonderful turnout at our first gathering, we’re excited to bring everyone together again in a relaxed and welcoming space to meet new collaborators, share ideas, and build relationships within the film community.

This is a free event, but it is a potluck, so each guest is asked to bring a homemade food item that can serve approximately 5–10 people.

To help keep things organized, you’ll be asked to add your name and the dish you’re bringing to a shared Excel sheet after registering so we can avoid duplicates and ensure a great variety of food.

Potluck Categories (please choose one):

• Appetizers.

• Salads.

• Main dishes.

• Vegetarian / vegan dishes.

• Gluten-free options.

• Desserts.

• Non-alcoholic drinks.

Homemade dishes are strongly encouraged — it’s part of the fun and spirit of the gathering.

Dress Code:

Business Casual.

Think polished but comfortable — the kind of outfit you’d wear to a creative industry mixer. It’s a great chance to meet potential collaborators and make a strong first impression.

Optional Community Donation:

We will also have a Food Bank donation box at the event. If you’re able, please consider bringing a non-perishable item to help support our local community.

To help spark conversations and collaborations, we’ll have a few optional activities:

🎬 Film Icebreaker Cards – conversation prompts about filmmaking, dream projects, and industry experiences

🎥 Project Pitch Corner – bring a quick 1-minute pitch for a project you’re developing.

🤝 Collaboration Board – post what you’re looking for (actors, crew, writers, etc.)

📸 Networking Photo Wall – take photos with new collaborators.
