Last year, we hosted a bbq/auction/fundraiser at our home in honor of Autism Awareness during the month of April. We raised $2k and donated it to Autism Speaks. Not too shabby for a small event with our family & friends.This year, we want to grow that amount. As the parents of a profoundly autistic son, we value the acceptance of diversity, education about neurodiversity, special needs, and intellectual disabilities, and the inclusion of everyone regardless of these obstacles. This year, our donation will go to Adventure Ready NW, an organization that provides adaptive recreation, fitness, & adventure for all. Children, teens, and adults with disabilities get the opportunity to go for hikes, snow adventures, camping trips, bike riding adventures, etc….with or without their caregivers.
Please join us for the 2nd Annual Nemmert Autism Awareness BBQ & Silent Auction Fundraiser. Saturday, April 11, 2026 at our home.
This year, we will be serving burgers, beans, & potato salad. We’re requesting a donation of $10 per plate. All money will go towards our grand donation. We will have another silent auction (must be present to bid/win) but we will also accept cash donations from anyone that feels compelled to support our tiny “foundation” 😃
We are also very much accepting any “auction items” that you may feel compelled to donate for our silent auction. Items, services, gift cards, etc. (Last year I had a variety of decor items, kitchen items, blankets, etc, along with handmade art from Evan 💙)
