Event Details:

The Hip-Hop Day of Service is an annual event held on the third Saturday in November, coinciding with Hip-Hop History Month and Youth Homelessness Awareness Month. This month recognizes the legacy of hip-hop and its profound impact on culture and social justice. The event focuses on community engagement and raising awareness of youth homelessness. Coordinated by a grassroots initiative and sponsored by the Baltimore Hip-Hop Historical Project and the Franciscan Center, this event aims to highlight the importance of and introducing middle, highscool and college students to various community service and engagment iniatives.

Venue Information:

• Location: The event will be held at the Franciscan Center located 101 West 23rd Street, Baltimore, Maryland, 21218.
• Date & Time: November 16, 2024 (Third Saturday in November) from 11:00am - 1:00pm.

What to Expect When You Arrive:

Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by Hip-Hop Day of Service volunteers who will provide instructions for drop off. Just so you know, there will be a community prayer to kick off the event at the top of the hour. You’ll also have the opportunity to drop off donations, including hoodies, blankets, and any items that will help keep individuals warm during the colder months. The process is simple, and your contributions will go directly to those in need, helping to provide support for individuals experiencing homelessness.

Participation Information:

Anyone interested in donating is encouraged to bring your items on that day. However you may also drop off donations early directly to the center. Pre-collection of donations deadline is November 1, 2024. Drop times at the Franciscan Center is 9:30am- 1:00pm ( Monday-Friday).
When dropping off your donations, please be sure to indicate that items are for hip-hop day of service.
