About this Event
Event Description:
This course teaches parents the power of improvisation and the benefits of using flexibility during stressful situations. Taught through the structure of a standard improv curriculum, this parenting workshop is aimed to build parents’ abilities to think on their feet in the midst of chaos, creating positive outcomes and memories for their children.
This workshop is for the adults only, and is open to parents, almost-parents, and anyone who is involved with children in a family or work environment!
Facilitator Bio:
Bridie Schellenberg (she/her) is a parody songwriter and improvisor for the masses and, perhaps more importantly, for her three children. She is a stand up comedian, a sketch comedy writer, emcee, karaoke aficionado, and cheese lover who loves short walks on the beach and speaking in obscure accents. Bridie Schellenberg is a graduate of The Second City Chicago Conservatory Program. She continues to perform with several ensemble groups, including Baltimore’s own Senior Mints Comedy. In a former life, Bridie was a competitive dance choreographer and former dancer. Though performing comedy is where her heart lies, her biggest accomplishments will always be giving birth and eating a block of cheese to completion.
