Black Tech Link is thrilled to announce that they will host their 2nd Annual Community Health Festival and STEM Fair on Saturday August 27th in San Diego, CA. Black Tech Link has partnered with the San Diego College of Continuing Education (SDCCE) to host the festival at the beautiful SDCCE Educational Cultural Complex campus location. This event seeks to attract over 1000 residents and families in the region with an aim to support San Diego’s most vulnerable communities by providing access to resources, jobs, and health education.
Black Tech Link will host over 100 vendors and community organizations all committed to fostering healthy communities. Partnering organizations include the Multicultural Health Foundation, San Diego Black Professionals, Pepsi, The Boys and Girls Club of Greater San Diego, and Jewish Family Services just to name a few. This is a great opportunity for residents to engage with healthcare professionals, lifestyle and fitness instructors, advocates for mental health and more. Health screenings and vaccinations will also be provided onsite.
Black Tech Link has also curated a roster of entertainment as well as renowned speakers who will discuss a variety of health related topics. America’s Favorite Nurse, Alice Benjamin, is slated to be the host of the festival. Event will also include a health care and life science career expo supported by the California Department of Health Care Access and Information, A State Agency. Employers will be actively recruiting for talent looking to identify meaningful careers in the health and STEM fields.
SDCCE Vice President of Student Services, Dr. Shakerra Carter, stated “We are excited to partner with Black Tech Link to host this important community event. We look forward to opening our campuses to the community and exposing more Black and Brown students to career opportunities in STEM fields.”
This event is intended for all ages which will also include a FREE Backpack Giveaway and Youth Robotics Program. Live music and food vendors will be onsite.
