Join us for the 2nd Annual Community Gathering of Grief & Joy.Coming together as a community to intentionally tend grief AND to cultivate joy creates connection and healing for everyone. Humans have done this for thousands of years; we are re-membering! As we name our losses and mourn together, we heal and transform ourselves and our society. When we physically express our grief through symbolic acts in the presence of community, our nervous systems settle, the load we carry lightens, and we feel a greater sense of belonging and inner peace. This process opens the pathways of experiencing joy!
This gathering is for our community particularly in the aftermath of Helene and the ensuing layers of loss, sorrow, fear, anger, and other expressions of grief that so many people are experiencing.
AND…people have been grieving alone for way too long.
So please join us if you:
*Want to honor losses in your life
*Want to offer a layer of support for others
*Want to create a society that normalizes grief and knows how to savor the sweetness of life...
*Want to experience an encounter with the paradox of both grief and joy!
As we gather, Kristie will guide us & invite us to remember some of our individual and collective grief; we won’t be sharing individual stories, but through gentle invitations we will have the opportunity to express them symbolically. Then, as a community, we will create an impermanent work of art that holds both our grief, and stands as a gateway to joy.
The ceremony will include music and ritual, and will be outside where we will create a sacred space. Ceremonies around grief are often out of the ordinary for most people this day and age. It takes courage to come to an event like this. Rest assured that all will be an invitation, nothing is required except for your presence.
Please bring a small handful of fresh cut flowers or other items from nature that can be used in our collective creative expression.
This event is hosted by Kristie Beth Ihde of Enspiraré, a global community of beautiful souls who choose to walk a sacred path of living fully alive.
Kristie hosted the first Gathering of Grief & Joy in April 2024 to invite the community to “befriend grief and embrace joy.” She offers this medicine to others as an outflow of what she lives. This event began as a way to mark the 16th birthday of her daughter, Liana Joy, who died from cancer treatment 3 years ago. In the aftermath of Helene, Kristie has seen the spiral journey of grief unfolding for individuals, and for Asheville & the surrounding communities as a whole. The medicine that flows through her of tenderly holding safe space and guiding others to touch into the edges of their emotions, while offering symbolic ways of expressing grief, and allowing the felt presence of Joy to arise, is a potent elixir for these times.
Kristie has a M.A. in mental health counseling and is trained in and practices Internal Family Systems as a life path. She would be the first to tell you that none of that really matters - Life is her greatest teacher and she lives in devotion to the Divine.
