The University of Arkansas’s Animal Science Department will host Boots, Brews, and BBQ on Friday, March 13th, at the Pauline Whitaker Animal Science Center. Public admission opens at 5 p.m. ($40 per person before March 13; $50 the day of the event). Each e‑ticket includes pulled pork samples, traditional sides, four beverage tickets, and a drink koozie. Guests can enjoy beverages donated by McBride Distributing for those 21 and older, along with water and Coke products. Live music will feature UofA alumni Trevor Diaz 8:00–9:30 p.m.U of A Meat Scientists and local pitmasters will provide professional BBQ tips and live demonstrations, then the Boss Hawg ribeye turn‑in and auction will take place, where five BBQ teams will compete for a $1,000 prize and trophy, presenting plates of ribeye steak, a side, and a dessert to celebrity judges, and a duplicate plate will also be auctioned. The Boss Hawg Award will be announced at 8:30 p.m. The event closes at 9:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit the Department of Animal Science’s scholarship fund and student competition teams.
Beer consumption will only be available to guests 21 and older with valid photo ID; non‑alcoholic beverages will be available.
