Februāra sākumā Jelgava aicina iegrimt ziemas noskaņās un piedzīvot 27. Starptautisko Ledus skulptūru festivālu, kas šogad norisināsies divas dienas - 7. un 8. februārī. 20 tēlnieki no 12 valstīm ledū atklās savu skatījumu par tēmu “Ilūzijas spēks”, aicinot apmeklētājus raudzīties tālāk par acīm redzamo un piedzīvot brīžus, kuros patiesība savijas ar maldiem.
Pasta sala, brīvdabas koncertzāle “Mītava” un Slidotava būs galvenās norises vietas, kur apmeklētājus gaidīs gan individuālās un komandu skulptūras, gan plaša kultūras programma uz divām skatuvēm. Savukārt Jāņa Čakstes bulvāris, kas iepriekšējos gados bija daļa no maksas teritorijas, šogad pārtaps par brīvi pieejamu svētku zonu.
Festivāla programma būs daudzveidīga un piemērota visai ģimenei. Festivāla darba laiks gan sestdien, gan svētdien būs no pulksten 11.00 līdz 22.00.
Abas festivāla dienas mazākos apmeklētājus priecēs Ā. Alunāna Jelgavas teātra rotaļu izrāde “Šurumburums un ilūziju triki” un Jelgavas Jaunā teātra bērnu izrāde “Modinātājs un Ziema”. Savukārt zinātkāros – aizraujoši “VIZIUM” zinātnes šovi ar dažādiem eksperimentiem. Būs iespēja vērot skulptūru veidošanas paraugdemonstrējumus, redzot, kā mākslinieku rokās dzimst īsti ledus mākslas darbi. Festivāla noskaņu papildinās iluzionista Valdemāra Veisa priekšnesumi.
Sestdien brīvdabas koncertzālē “Mītava” notiks ledus konkursa apbalvošana un festivāla atklāšana, pēc tam uzstāsies muzikālā apvienība “Vintāža”, bet vakaru noslēgs harizmātiskā grupa Instrumenti.
Svētdien vakara programmu iesāks ansamblis “Tandēms trijatā”, tam sekos Normunds Rutulis kopā ar Slaveno Rīgas orķestri, bet festivālu noslēgs starptautiski atzītā un enerģijas pilnā etnomūzikas grupa “Tautumeitas”.

At the beginning of February, Jelgava invites visitors to immerse themselves in a winter atmosphere and experience the 27th International Ice Sculpture Festival, which this year will take place over two days — 7 and 8 February.
20 sculptors from 12 countries will reveal their interpretations of the theme “The Power of Illusion” through ice, inviting visitors to look beyond what meets the eye and to experience moments where reality intertwines with illusion.
Pasta Island, the open-air concert hall “Mītava”, and the Ice Rink will be the main festival locations, featuring both individual and team sculptures as well as a rich cultural programme on two stages. Meanwhile, Jāņa Čakstes Boulevard, which in previous years was part of the ticketed area, will this year be transformed into a freely accessible festival zone.
The festival programme will be diverse and suitable for the whole family. Festival opening hours on both Saturday and Sunday will be from 11:00 to 22:00.
On both festival days, younger visitors will be delighted by the Ādolfa Alunāna Jelgava Theatre play “Shurumburums and Illusion Tricks” and the Jelgavas Jaunā Theatre children’s performance “The Alarm Clock and Winter”. Curious minds will enjoy exciting VIZIUM science shows featuring a variety of experiments. Visitors will also have the opportunity to watch live ice sculpting demonstrations, witnessing true works of ice art come to life in the hands of artists. The festival atmosphere will be further enhanced by performances from illusionist Valdemārs Veiss.
On Saturday, the open-air concert hall “Mītava” will host the ice sculpture competition award ceremony and the official festival opening, followed by a performance from the musical group “Vintāža”, with the evening concluding with the charismatic band Instrumenti.
On Sunday evening, the programme will begin with the ensemble “Tandēms trijatā”, followed by Normunds Rutulis together with the Famous Riga Orchestra, and the festival will conclude with the internationally acclaimed and energetic ethno-music group “Tautumeitas”.
Tickets at a reduced price are available until 31 January at “Biļešu Paradīze” ticket offices throughout Latvia, at the Jelgava Culture House ticket office, and online at www.bilesuparadize.lv. Each purchased ticket is a day ticket, allowing multiple entries to the festival area on the selected date.
