📍 Old North Church & Paul Revere Mall, Boston
Two hundred fifty years ago, on the night of April 18, 1775, a quiet but decisive act of defiance set history in motion. Freemasons Robert Newman and Captain John Pulling ascended the steeple of Old North Church, briefly displaying two lanterns—a signal that launched Paul Revere’s legendary ride and changed the course of a nation.
On April 18, 2025, the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts, in partnership with Old North Illuminated and the City of Boston, will once again light the steeple, honoring the courage and sacrifice of those who ignited the American Revolution.
