Qatar has a street cat population equal to the entire country's human population – and it's growing fast. Disease is rampant, and local adoption is rare. 25 CATS FROM QATAR follows a network of multinational underground animal rescuers in Doha and a Milwaukee flight attendant/cat cafe owner on their mission to transport some lucky felines and find homes for them abroad, all the while searching for a long-term solution to the crisis.
Presenting Qatar as a microcosm of a global crisis, the film asks searching questions about the role of public and private players in animal welfare, all within a ticking-clock narrative about the nuts and bolts of a rescue mission.
From the filmmakers behind the award-winning Cat Daddies, 25 CATS FROM QATAR is both an urgent wake-up call and a compassionate and heartwarming portrayal of strangers overcoming international barriers to reach a common goal.
Presented as part of the 2026 Arab Film Festival.
