TITLE OF OUR LECTURE AND DISCUSSION FOR THIS YEAR : Everything I Always Wanted to Know About Peace* (*But Were Afraid to Ask) Subtitle: Learnings from my first ten years in Aotearoa NZOur first annual peace lecture was given by David Lange in 2004. since then we have held a peace lecture gathering every year, alternating between Jewish, Christian and Muslim presenters. Dr Daniel Fridberg is our Peace lecturer for 2024. For the first time our lecture and discussion will be held off campus, at the Araiteuru Marae. Everyone is invited for a meal at 5pm (koha/donation) and then to the lecture and discussion at 7pm.
Over the past 25 years, Danny has practiced conflict resolution internationally and locally, including dialogue group facilitation; peacebuilding project management and evaluation; mediation; public participation processes and consensus building; research; training and teaching.
In his conflict resolution practice, he emphasises the importance of relationship building and restoration. Danny strongly believes that resolving conflicts requires long-term thinking, where mutual gains and healthy relationship are key to wellbeing and success.
He holds a PhD in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Otago, an MA in Conflict Research, Management and Resolution and a BA in Psychology, both from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
