About this Event
217. Early Years Mental Health: Attachment-based strategies to mitigate anxiety and behavioural challenges in the classroom (am) “Parents Welcome”
Facilitator: Carlee Lewis is an Early Years Clinician with the Mission Child and Youth Team and has been with the team since 2019. She specializes in working with families of children ages 0-6 years. She is passionate about supporting strong relationships between children and the adults who care for them and recognizes that investing in caregiver's mental health IS investing in children's mental health.
Every day we are learning new skills to use with children to address anxiety and behavioural challenges. But in adding all these tools to our tool belt, we can often forget a child's most core developmental need: a secure attachment to their adult caregivers (including teachers and school staff). In this workshop, we will cover developmental theory and practical strategies to build attachment bonds with your students to increase the effectiveness of all your other tools. Please note this workshop is intended for teachers, staff, and professionals who support children 3-7 years of age.
