The Malta Spring Festival concludes with a powerful celebration of string writing and bold contrasts. Charles Camilleri’s Suite 2001 – Kosmos opens with a luminous meditation on humanity and the universe. Britten’s spirited Simple Symphony sparkles with youthful energy, while Karl Fiorini’s Weinende Frau, inspired by Picasso’s Guernica, delivers raw contemporary intensity. Ginastera’s Concerto for Strings closes the festival in a blaze of rhythmic fire and dramatic force.
Performed by the Malta Spring Festival Academy Orchestra under the baton of Brian Schembri, this finale unites outstanding young international musicians in a thrilling and unforgettable conclusion.
