The Clergy and Lay Leadership Summit HIV/AIDS tradition began as Clergy Leadership Summit for HIV/AIDS Community Outreach in 2004 through the collaboration of Summit founder Sylvia Jo Oglesby, public advocate for HIV and AIDS community education and McCormick Theological Seminary. Our goal in this collaborative effort is to help communities to reduce infections and behaviors that put people at risk for HIV/AIDS by equipping and engaging local church ministries and faith-based community outreach workers with the education and awareness of the most current best practices available.
