For Change Makers who wish to reimagine the way we navigate our relationship to body-mind and the systems we interact with.
This training is specifically designed for, yet not limited to, professionals working with trauma-impacted individuals and communities - social workers, healthcare providers, educators, community advocates, and those in demanding frontline roles. It's for those who understand that systemic change begins with how we show up in our work and communities.
The education is delivered through 3 pillars:
👉 Nervous System Regulation: Essential for those in high-demand roles, learn polyvagal-informed tools to prevent burnout and maintain presence while supporting others.
👉 Trauma-Informed Practice: Build skills to create braver and more accessible spaces for those experiencing trauma and systemic stress.
👉 Social Justice and Systemic Change: Connect individual healing with broader systemic transformation. Explore how trauma-informed practice can challenge oppressive systems and create more equitable spaces. Learn practical approaches to implementing change within your organisation or community work.
Join a community of change makers committed to transforming how we show up in our work, our communities, and our systems.
______
This training is an educational space to understand how trauma may show up in the body and how it may manifest in different situations and experiences in order to understand and take action toward a more safe, inclusive and equitable future. This training unpacks the intricacies of how trauma impacts individuals and communities and also equips you with tools for self agency and regulation so we can more powerfully hold space for ourselves and others.
Through a better understanding of the body and how it is affected during certain circumstances and events (mentally, physically and emotionally), we as humans are able to ultimately return ourselves back to a balanced state of living, thus breaking the pattern of stress, anxiety, and eventually trauma within ourselves, our community and our globe.
Whilst we will look at trauma at an individual level, we also look at trauma on a collective level so that we can move towards systemic change.
_____
SomaPsych takes a body-mind approach to restoration, therefore students will explore the importance of nervous system regulation as a foundational component to building one's capacity to not only hold distressing memories and emotion but to also process and integrate them. Throughout the weekend, students will explore practical tools to promote biological resiliency, self-regulation and resolution within oneself and those they work alongside.
