The Youth Advocacy Summit is a two-day event for youth with disabilities (ages 14–24) from across Kentucky who want to build self-advocacy skills, grow leadership confidence, and connect with other youth and adults working toward disability rights and independent living.Our goal is to create a supportive, inclusive experience where youth are encouraged to participate, lead, and build independence with the supports they need to fully take part.
Dates: Thursday, June 11, 2026 - Friday, June 12, 2026
Times: Thursday: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM & Friday: 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM
Location: The Campbell House - 1375 South Broadway, Lexington, KY 40504
Cost & Travel Support:
No cost to attend. Hotel lodging (Thursday night) provided for those traveling from outside Lexington (1 room per youth/adult pair). Gas reimbursement available as funding allows.
Meal Support:
- Light breakfast provided both days
- Lunch provided both days
- Dinner provided Thursday evening
What to expect:
- Day 1: Youth and adults will be together for shared sessions and learning
- Day 2: Youth and adults will participate in separate breakout sessions designed specifically for each group
- Opportunities to learn, share experiences, and build connections in an accessible and welcoming space
Participants ages 14-17 must attend with a parent or trusted adult.
Participants ages 18-20 may attend independently but will need a parent or trusted adult if staying overnight at The Campbell House due to hotel check-in policies (minimum age 21).
Participants ages 21-24 may choose to attend independently.
Cancellation Policy:
If your plans change, please notify us as soon as possible so another youth can take your spot. We are covering meals and hotel accommodations, and may offer travel support if funding is available. Early notice will help us plan accordingly!
