Join York’s community of property and construction professionals for the launch of the 2026 York Design Awards. Come along to learn all about this year’s awards, network with like-minded individuals and hear from an insightful guest speaker, from the team who are delivering the transformational York Central development, which will create a new city quarter in York.

Design challenges of turning a vision into a built reality – Delivering York Central
York Central, a public-private partnership led by McLaren Property and Arlington Real Estate, is set to boost the regional economy, delivering 6,500 jobs, 2,500 homes, office, retail, leisure and green space as an exemplar development.
The £2 billion project, which has already secured outline planning approval, is one of the UK’s largest regeneration projects and the latest reserved matters application was recently submitted for the project, including:

99,188 sq ft innovation hub
69,255 sq ft retail and leisure space
213-bedroom hotel
Brand new western station entrance
Extensive parkland and public realm
This 45-hectare new city quarter, located behind the railway station, help grow York’s economy by 20% by adding £1.1bn GVA to the city.
