During our Winter Concert 2026, the members of the Mid Michigan Brass Band will be honoring our friend and fellow musician, Mark Abbe. Mark lost a valiant battle against prostate cancer in November. As part of our tribute to Mark, the MMBB will be premiering the Brass Band transcription of "The Showstoppers" by Paul Lovatt-Cooper. This composition was commissioned by the Classic Legacy Band of Saginaw and premiered during their Christmas Concert in December. In addition to our tribute to Mark, we will feature Chandler Wayne performing the Bass Trombone feature, "Capriccio" and the Trombone section feature "I Will Follow Him."
We will also be performing Dana Everson's composition "Brass Alive." This was last performed during our Autumn Concert in 2019. This composition was commissioned for the MMBB in recognition of the band's founder, Jim Schutz, to kick-off our 5th Anniversary Season.
