Mount Washington Valley Promotions will host the Valley Ms. Event on Sunday, March 15 at M&D Playhouse. Women of all ages will represent their non-profit organization for the chance to win $500 for that charity.
There are 4 easy sections to this event:
Each contestant will be interviewed by the Event Judges in a panel forum, via Zoom, in advance of pageant day. The Judges will be scoring each contestant on her ability to talk with a board and answer questions about her interests and the organization she is representing. This accounts for 30% of the overall score.
Each contestant will introduce herself to the audience and judges and deliver a 60-second prepared speech about her sponsoring organization and its impact on her life on Pageant Day. This accounts for 30% of the overall score.
Each contestant will present herself on stage in formal attire directly following Public Speaking. They may strut their stuff or be a proper lady – it’s all for fun and charity! This accounts for 30% of the overall score.
Each contestant and her organization have created online fund-raising pages for the public to donate to. The contestant with the most money will gain the most points toward the overall score. “Ca$h Cans” may also be displayed by the organizations at various events and locations in advance of the event to collect more donations. Following the event, money raised will benefit their sponsoring organization! This accounts for 10% of the overall score.
The event is recorded and aired on Valley Vision Channel 3. The winners’ organization receives $500 in cash; the winner herself receives a crown and sash, plus prizes collected by the participants. The runner-up also receives prizes and their organization will receive $250. These events have raised more than $177,000 for participating organizations since started in 2012.
