The Toowoomba Hospice and Toowoomba PCYC’s Youth and Community programs will share funds raised at the 32nd Toowoomba Mayoral Prayer Breakfast, which will be held from 6am on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Rumours International.Toowoomba Regional Council Mayor Cr Geoff McDonald said he was pleased to offer financial assistance to two organisations that had provided invaluable services and support to thousands of residents across the years.
“The Toowoomba Hospice has provided dignified palliative care for people with terminal illness and supported their families and friends since opening in July 2003,” Mayor McDonald said.
“Like all not-for-profit organisations, the Toowoomba Hospice relies on community support and funding to deliver its valuable services.
“Funds also will be directed to the Toowoomba PCYC to help them deliver their youth and community programs.
“Our community was shocked and saddened by the loss of the Toowoomba PCYC facility in a fire on March 19 this year and has responded magnificently with offers of assistance for equipment and arrangements for temporary facilities.
“The Mayoral Prayer Breakfast can offer financial assistance to help the Toowoomba PCYC continue its programs aiding disadvantaged and disconnected youth.”
This year’s Toowoomba Mayoral Prayer Breakfast guest speaker is Wesley Mission CEO and Superintendent, Reverend Stu Cameron.
Rev. Cameron previously served for 15 years as Lead Minister for Newlife Church with time spent at the Gold Coast and Brisbane.
The Wesley Mission, which has operated for more than 200 years, has a team of 2300 staff and is supported by more than 4500 volunteers.
