2026 Team Captains tournament. Details
• Build your team of 3 players (captains) with a combined handicap of 15 or less.
• Players may only participate on one team.
• To be eligible, Captains must complete two (2) sessions as a Team Captain of a standard 8-Ball or 9-Ball team in the 2025/2026 League year (Summer, Fall, Spring) in our league area. Captains of the Ladies division may also can participate.
• Being a captain of two teams in one session doesn't make you eligible. Must be a captain of a team in two sessions.
• Only one senior skill level player allowed per team (skill level 6 or higher).
• A players higher skill between formats will be used towards the teams skill level total. So if you're a 5 in 8 Ball and a 6 in 9 Ball, you would count as a 6 towards the 15 max handicap since you're higher in 9 ball. Also, skill level 8's & 9's in 9 Ball will count as 7.
• Format is 3 Person Toledo style.
• Alternating game format between 8 Ball and 9 Ball. First two players (low handicap) play a rack of 8 ball, winner gets one point. 2nd players play a rack of 9 ball, winner gets one point. Last players play a rack of 8 ball, winner gets one point. The first two players play again, a rack of 9 Ball this time, winner gets one point. Play continues until a team reaches 5 points (wins).
• Teams with a combined handicap less than 12 get a game spot.
• Winning team receives travel allowance, entry, green fee and hotel to the 2026 APA Team Captains Championship in Las Vegas with a $57,600US prize purse and a $10,000US first prize.
• The 2026 APA Captains Tournament in Las Vegas Tournament runs from Aug 13 to 14.
• Event Format is Modified Single Elimination.
• Event registration opens at 10:00am and closes at 10:30am. Matches to begin at 10:45am.
• Pre Registration NOT required, show up before 10:30am to register your team (ensure all team members meet eligibility requirements).
