About this Event
State of the Valley is Silicon Valley’s annual “town hall” — an intensive, half-day gathering that examines our region’s most important trends and challenges. At its core is the Silicon Valley Index, an internationally recognized publication that has told the Silicon Valley story since 1995. Featuring a comprehensive set of indicators on community health and economic vitality, the Index is a powerful resource that gives meaningful insight into regional trends and provides decision-makers with data to guide policy and action.
State of the Valley 2026 will be an in-person, non-streaming event hosted at San Jose State University on Friday, February 27, from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Russell Hancock, Joint Venture’s President & CEO, will open the program with in-depth briefings on the latest Index. The event will conclude with keynote remarks from Derek Thompson, co-author (with Ezra Klein) of The New York Times bestseller Abundance.
