About this Event
OFLTA offers a day of professional learning and growth to all World Language teachers and educators.
There will be 3 workshops offered in the morning, and 3 workshops offered in the afternoon. You can pick which a.m. and p.m. workshop you want to attend! Past evaluations have indicated that attendees want in-depth PD with more time to collaborate and to work on specific needs. Sessions are designed to allow for meaningful conversation, collaboration, and practical application.
(AM Workshops)Two-hour, in-depth sessions
Session strands include:
- Advocacy and professional voice
- Classroom practice and community-building
- Content-focused workshops led by experienced educators
(PM Workshops)Two-hour, in-depth sessions
Session strands include:
- A second Advocacy and professional voice (for those who were not able to attend the morning session)
- Sessions centered on collaboration, mentoring, and supporting teachers (including new teachers)
- Content-focused workshops led by experienced educators
- Assessment-focused workshop

Here is what you can expect:
- Light breakfast/coffee service before the conference
- Awards, Recognitions, Vote & Installation of NEW Vice-President and Recording Secretary, and Business Meeting at the beginning of the conference
- AM break out workshops
- Lunch on your own - there are a TON of low cost places close to OCCC to choose from, or you can bring your lunch and chat with colleagues at the venue.
- PM break out workshops
- Closing remarks, raffle, and prize giveaways
