Learn the full, all-inclusive process of making sourdough bread, from feeding starters to baking loaves.About this Event
Check out this one-day sourdough bread class, designed for beginners and including everything you need to know for the full process -- from starter to serving! Learn from local sourdough bakers Glenn and Happy Vlass and learn a new skill for summer gatherings.
The day will be split into four hands-on sessions with a one-hour break for lunch. (Lunch will be provided!) In each session, participants will learn about feeding sourdough starters and fermentation, making and mixing dough, shaping bread loaves, food safety, and scoring/baking bread loaves. Class materials will be provided, and participants will be able to sample a loaf baked during the class.
Participants will leave the class with a sourdough starter ready for use, hands-on experience with all aspects of the sourdough baking process, the timeline for baking sourdough bread, a list of resources and helpful links, and basic sourdough recipes.
Registration closes one week prior to event; max capacity 20 people. Minimum of 5 participants required to host class, otherwise refunds will be issued.
