An oasis in the city of Washington, the Gardens at Dumbarton Oaks were designed by renowned landscape gardener Beatrix Farrand, in collaboration with property owner Mildred Bliss. The property extends over ten acres of terraced gardens and vistas, orchards, and kitchen gardens. Farrand and Bliss worked together for almost thirty years to achieve their vision, which includes many fine decorative ornaments—benches, gates, finials, and sculptures.
Please consult our website for hours of operation, directions, visitor guidelines, and other information.
