Most every ride you take in Tucson and Southern Arizona depends on one thing: drivers seeing you, understanding you, and respecting your space on the road.
The Tucson Ride of Silence is about making that happen.
Join riders from across the community for a slow, highly visible, police escorted ride through some of Tucson’s busiest corridors. This is an opportunity to show drivers, neighbors, and decision makers that cyclists are out here every day, and that safety matters.
Riders will gather at Ramada 19 in Reid Park at 5:00 PM and roll out at 5:30 PM for a one hour, eight mile ride. The pace is easy and the group stays together, creating a strong, unified presence on the road.
The route will travel north on Country Club, east on Broadway, south on Craycroft, west on 22nd, and then north on Country Club before returning to the park at Concert Place.
Police will provide front and rear escort and assist with traffic control. El Tour’s Bike Patrol will be riding along to support the group, and to help keep everyone safe.
This ride is intentionally quiet. That silence carries a message. It represents the riders we’ve lost and reminds everyone sharing the road that these are real people, not just bikes.
