The ride is held each May to coincide with Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month, reinforcing the importance of ongoing advocacy and support.
The event’s symbol, the purple rose, represents strength, resilience, and hope. It is a tribute to survivors and a reminder of the healing journey many undertake after escaping violence. The ride brings together motorcyclists from across Central Queensland in a powerful show of unity and compassion.
Since its inception, the Purple Rose Ride has grown into a significant regional movement, with participants and supporters coming together each year. It has become a platform for education, fundraising, and community engagement, helping to shine a light on the realities of domestic and family violence and the importance of accessible support services.
