About this Event
About the Seattle Pride® Parade

We’re excited to have you join us for the Annual Seattle Pride® Parade on Sunday, June 28, in Downtown Seattle for the Northwest's largest LGBTQIA2S+ Pride Parade. Stay tuned for details on the Parade Route, announcer stages, accessibility accommodations, and logistics.

Seattle Pride® produces this annual event to honor the Stonewall Riots of late June 1969, and our city's legacy of Gay Pride Week which first started in Pioneer Square in 1974, which sparked the LGBTQIA2S+ rights movement we carry on today. Your participation helps promote equal rights and celebrates our history without prejudice.

We will share updates regarding our float staging location and any further detail as we receive it.

Parade Policies
  • Parade Conduct Authority: Seattle Pride has the authority to remove any participant or contingent for non-compliance with rules. Violations may be investigated, with potential restrictions on future participation.
  • Prohibited Items: Alcohol, drugs, illegal substances, and firearms are prohibited within the Parade event and permit area. Seattle Pride reserves the right to remove any person or vehicle for unsafe behavior, rule violations, or actions causing delays.
  • Indemnity Clause: All participants assume responsibility for their actions and any omissions that could result in injury or damage. Participants agree to indemnify and hold Seattle Pride and its agents, volunteers, and employees harmless from any claims arising out of their actions.
  • Animals: Only well-socialized, licensed, and leashed pets are allowed. Livestock is prohibited. Guardians must plan for water, protection from hot pavement, and clean-up for pets.
  • Interacting with Spectators: Do not encourage or invite spectators to enter the Parade Route. Violations can result in future restricted participation. Handouts should be distributed from the route’s edge only.

SWAG and Restricted Items
  • Confetti, glitter, or similar items are prohibited. Body glitter or glitter painted directly onto items is acceptable.
  • Violators of the no-confetti/glitter policy will incur a $500 cleanup fee and may be disqualified from participating in future Seattle Pride events.
  • Environmentally friendly and reusable swag is strongly encouraged.
  • Other restricted items include:
    • Police uniforms, insignia, vehicles, and propaganda. Officers may march out of uniform without police insignia or vehicles.
    • Firearms, loud jarring noises such as cannons or guns (music is allowed).
  • Contingents are responsible for cleaning up spills or damage caused by their participation.

For Accessibility Needs

Seattle Pride is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible Parade experience. We welcome participants of all abilities and provide the following guidelines to support accessibility:

  • Mobility Devices Permitted: All mobility devices, including wheelchairs, scooters, and other assistive equipment, are permitted along the Parade route. Participants using mobility aids should coordinate with their group leader to ensure safe and smooth staging, movement, and disassembly.
  • Service Animals: Service animals are welcome in the Parade and must remain on a leash or harness at all times. We recommend that service animal handlers bring necessary items, such as water and protective gear, to ensure the animal’s comfort along the route.
  • Rest Areas at First Aid: Our First Aid tents have seating and hydration stations available. For those who may need rest breaks or medical assistance, please plan with your group to utilize these resources as needed.
  • Exits Along Route: There are ample exits along the Parade route where individuals can remove themselves from the march as needed.
