About this Event
The Pollinator Ambassador Academy is an advanced training in pollinator sustainability and conservation, and an opportunity to be a part of pollinator research taking place in Florida. This training will equip and empower individuals to advocate for pollinators in their local communities. Throughout this day-long training, we cover a variety of topics, including:
- Introduction of Florida Pollinators
- Building a Successful Pollinator Habitat
- Pollinator Gardening with Florida-Friendly Landscaping
- Bee Gardening 101
- Incorporating Pollinator Gardening in Homeowner's Associations (HOAs)
- The Great Florida Pollinator Census
- Using our Voice to Advocate for Pollinators
- Integrated Pest & Pollinator Management (IPPM)
We will spend time both indoors and out in the pollinator gardens, so wear comfortable shoes! You are welcome to bring a hat, water bottle, and sunscreen!
Registration for the training includes lunch and refreshments, training materials, a Pollinator Ambassador polo shirt, and other goodies!
Following the training, participants are invited to take part in collecting pollinator field observations, which can be done in public places or from your own backyard! More information will be provided on this during the training.
