The Oslo Freedom Forum is more than a conference. Each year, our community advances the cause of freedom by sharing hard-won lessons, amplifying courageous voices, and building the relationships that sustain movements. Around the world today, civic resistance and international pressure are exposing vulnerabilities in regimes once thought unshakeable. Moments like these create openings. Our task — and our opportunity — is to widen those cracks in the authoritarian facade and strengthen the global community working to dismantle dictatorship.
Authoritarianism is not inevitable. It is a system built on fear, myth, and captured institutions. While it harms individuals and societies, it is also fragile. By exposing the fictions that prop up dictatorships — and by supporting the brave people who challenge them — we open space where free expression, accountability, and community can thrive.
Join us in Oslo, Norway, on June 1–3 at the Oslo Konserthus, as we bring together stories of courage, artistic expression, technological innovation, and organizing power to break down oppressive systems and assemble a freer future.
