Please join us for the 2026 Assigned Counsel Program Summit hosted by NYS Office of Indigent Legal Services.
The 2026 New York State Assigned Counsel Program Summit will be held on June 11, 2026, at the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA), located at 1 Elk Street in Albany, New York. The Summit brings together Assigned Counsel Program leaders from around New York State to identify successes and challenges in improving the quality of representation provided by ACP attorneys, strategize solutions to common problems, and to create a space to brainstorm and build connections with other ACP leaders.
Breakfast & Lunch
Breakfast and lunch will be provided at this event. Gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options will be served.
Parking
If you are staying at one of the recommended hotels, parking is available for $20-$22 per day at the hotel.
There is also street parking available at various rates depending on the "zone" in which you are parked. Street parking can be paid at the meters with coin or card, or via the ParkAlbany App. The app can be downloaded on iOS apple devices or Android.

If you are coming from out of town, we recommend staying at one of two hotels located in downtown Albany and located just a short walk from NYSBA.

Pre-Summit Gathering at City Beer Hall
We would like to invite you to join us on June 10 from 5:30-7:30pm at City Beer Hall for a pre-summit gathering. City Beer Hall is located in downtown Albany and is walking distance to the two recommended hotels. With no local events or concerts scheduled for the same night, there should also be ample parking for those who live in the area. Please note this is a "pay-your-own-way" event. Info: This presentation will spotlight the ILS Standards for the Investigation Function of Interdisciplinary Defense Teams, the first comprehensive, defense-specific professional standards for investigation in New York State. Designed specifically for ACP leaders, this presentation will focus on three core functions the Standards serve: (1) strengthening culture and expectations around investigative practice; (2) managing risk by reducing ethical drift and late-stage investigations; and (3) enhancing advocacy conversations with counties and other stakeholders. The goal is to equip ACP leaders with a practical framework they can adapt, phase in, and use to strengthen leadership across culture, operations, and external advocacy.
