About this Event
Color ME Aware 2026 Awareness Campaign April 20 โ 24, 2026
Each year during National Crime Victimsโ Rights Week (NCVRW), VADOC participates in the Color ME Aware campaignโa weeklong initiative that assigns a specific color to each day to raise awareness about different types of crime. By encouraging staff, community partners, and the public to wear these colors throughout the week, Color ME Aware creates visible unity and promotes conversation about the diverse experiences of victims and the services available to support them. Participants may also connect with the Victim Services Unit for resources, shareable materials, and opportunities to engage more deeply in the campaign. To join in wear the following during the week:
Monday 4/20 - IPV / DV / Stalking - wear PURPLE and YELLOW
Tuesday 4/21 - DUI Awareness - Wear RED
Wednesday 4/22 - SExual Assault Awareness - Wear TEAL GREEN
Thursday 4/23 - Child Abuse Awareness - Wear BLUE
Friday 4/24 - Homicide Awareness - Wear RED and BLACK
