Interfaith leaders, Bishop Frank Douglas (Christian), Dr. Sofia Khan (Muslim), Rabbi Talia Kaplan (Jewish) and Mark Johnson (Baha’i) will reflect on Dr. King’s vision that we are, “Tied In a Single Garment Of Destiny.”
The panel will bring religious dialogue, common ground and understanding in these often divisive times. Iconic and lauded journalist and change agent Lewis Diuguid will moderate the discussion.
Musical performances will include
Music from the Jewish community by Hazzan Tahl Ben-Jehudah, Clint Gillom, Cantor Sharon Kohn, Lara Steinel, and Lezlie Zucker;
Jazz Vocalist Millie Edwards, accompanied by Pianist Charles Williams;
and the OUTside VoicesKC Choir.
This event is organized by SCLC-GKC, the Jewish Community Relations Bureau|AJC and the Greater Kansas City Interfaith Council.
Parking at Community Christian Church is available in the Ashton Garage just south of the Church. Attendees are asked to park on the second floor and above. There are a limited number of handicap spaces off of 46th Street and those with accessibility needs are advised to use the entrance on 46th street.
