About this Event
The Housing and Community Development Department (HCDD) invites community members, stakeholders, and partners to participate in this year’s summit, Breaking Barriers and Creating Solutions: Shaping the Future of Housing. Together, we’ll engage in meaningful conversations, share resources, and work toward a more equitable housing future for all Kansas Citians.
Hear directly from Kansas City unhoused experts. Gain insight into their lived experiences and learn what is currently being done to support unhoused residents. Discover new strategies, emerging initiatives, and valuable resources aimed at improving housing stability and expanding services for those most in need.
Learn what Kansas City is doing to address the housing shortage. Explore the innovative solutions being used to keep residents stably housed and to create new housing opportunities across the city. We will also examine the meaning of fair in fair housing—what it truly represents, why it matters, and how fair housing protections are being upheld in today’s climate.
HCDD staff, community organizations, and residents will come together to identify key housing needs, elevate community voices, and highlight available tools and support designed to improve housing stability across the city.
