About this Event
This course will provide an introduction to the fundamentals of lyophilization (freeze-drying), the common issues found in formulation design and the impact of formulations, tools for process design and process analytical technology and the use of them to design efficient lyophilization processes, how to avoid common pitfalls in designing lyophilization processes and how to evaluate the cakes produced by lyophilization. The course includes the use of a pilot and lab scale lyophilizer in an industrially comparable facility at UMass Lowell, case studies, and networking with experts.
