On Good Friday, the Church enters into the most solemn day of the Christian year—the day we stand at the foot of the Cross and remember the Passion and Death of Our Lord. Bishop Douglas Deshotel invites the faithful across the Diocese to take part in Good Friday services in your home parish. Contact your local church for service times, or you are welcome to join the Bishop for the Celebration of the Lord’s Passion at 3:00 PM on Friday, April 3rd, at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette.Good Friday is a sacred day of prayer, silence, and reverence as we reflect on the suffering Christ endured for our salvation. The Church calls us to observe this day with fasting and abstinence as acts of penance and love, uniting our sacrifices to His. Come and pray. Come and remember. Come and stand at the Cross.
