About the Causeway Coast Marathon Events
The Causeway Coast Marathon began in 2010 as the second-ever mass-participation off-road marathon in Ireland, following the Mourne Way Marathon. Created by 26 Extreme Ltd, the event quickly grew, attracting runners from Ireland, the UK, and beyond.
The event HQ and finish line are located in Portballintrae, the perfect launch point for exploring the headlands and coastal paths.
Event categories include:
10 km
Half Marathon
Marathon
Ultra Marathon
Corporate Half Marathon – Teams of 4 from businesses can compete together in a dedicated category with leaderboard and prizes.
Cancer Focus Challenge Walk – walk for participants supporting Cancer Focus NI.
Proceeds support Cancer Focus NI, providing care, prevention programs, research funding, and advocacy.

The Location – Portballintrae & North Coast
The North Coast of Northern Ireland is renowned for its rugged coastline, cliffs, beaches, and bays. Runners experience spectacular scenery, including the world-famous Giant’s Causeway and the infamous Shepherd’s Steps.
Nearby towns such as Bushmills, Portrush, and Portstewart offer accommodation, dining, and entertainment options.
