The Frozen River Film Festival (FRFF), Minnesota’s documentary film festival, is excited to announce a new home base for its 2026 festival: The ARC, located at 255 Main Street in downtown Winona.The festival will move off the Winona State University campus, bringing its vibrant community of filmmakers, audiences, and volunteers into the heart of downtown Winona.
The ARC’s first floor will serve as the festival’s “Atrium,” a dynamic gathering space for festival-goers. This space will harness the beloved atmosphere of the Atrium at the Science Laboratory Center (SLC) lobby. The ARC first floow will host festival box office and information, filmmaker meet-and-greets/panel discussions, workshops, merchandise, and other programming throughout the festival weekend.
Film screenings and special events will take place at multiple downtown venues, including the The ARC Historic Masonic Theatre, Winona County Historical Society and the Winona Arts Center. This move strengthens FRFF’s connection to Winona’s thriving arts scene and supports local businesses in the city’s walkable downtown district.
