You’re invited to join the Friends of Slater Museum for the 2026 Annual Meeting! Hear about exciting updates and future exhibitions and programs coming to Slater Memorial Museum in 2026 and beyond. Following a brief business meeting, the Friends of Slater Museum are pleased to welcome award-winning author and historic preservationist, Anthony C. Wood, who will discuss his new book Servant of Beauty: Landmarks, Secret Love, and the Unimagined life of an Unsung New York Hero, a comprehensive biography on the life and work of a Norwich-native, Albert S. Bard (1866-1963). Bard’s influence in the world of historic preservation led to the creation of the “Bard Act” which strengthened protections of historic buildings and architecture in New York City. Wood will discuss his book in a conversation moderated by Slater Museum Director, Dayne Rugh, and copies of Wood’s seminal biopic will be available for sale.Arrival Time - 5:00 pm
