2026 Fried Egg Golf Event at Lawsonia Links

Fried Egg Golf hosted our first ever event, The Steamshovel, at Lawsonia back in May of 2019. This year, we return to our favorite Wisconsin stomping grounds for the sixth time. The event will be the same as always, a 36-hole bash with best ball and alternate shot, and we'll have an optional two-man Derby on Friday afternoon ahead of the Lawsonia Fish Fry, a Wisconsin staple. Oh, and there will be plenty of Spotted Cow to go around.

Opens: Wednesday, March 18 at Noon ET

Two-person teams. Morning round is best ball and the afternoon round is alternate shot. Singles are welcome and will be paired together.

- September 13, 2026 - Tee times available beginning at 10:00 a.m. for $175/player. Located just north of the Illinois/Wisconsin border, Kenosha CC is a Donald Ross design with a membership that truly cares about maintaining their club and golf course. They've done great work in recent years especially. And for those doing the Lawsonia-Onwentsia event double, this is the perfect stop in between.

If you’ve followed Fried Egg Golf for any length of time, you know that Lawsonia is one of our favorite spots in the country. The course’s architecture stands the test of time, providing numerous exhilarating shots throughout. We’re even more excited for 2025 thanks to the work the ownership has done to improve the course. Over the last two years, they have redone all the bunkers and increased fairway widths, helping expose even more of the brilliance in Langford & Moreau’s design. • AIRPORTS - Your closest options are Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE, 1 hour and 45 mins away) and Chicago O'Hare International Airport (2 hours, 45 mins away)
• HOTELS - Green Lake has limited lodging options but the Heidel House and Green Lake Inn are popular choices from our event participants. There are some Airbnb options popping up as well.

Info: We're hosting our first ever horse race on Friday afternoon. If you don't know, a horse race is a competition in which teams are knocked out every hole, with the worst scores eliminated. We are making ours an alternate-shot horse race and calling it the "Fish Fry Derby." So grab your partner or show up on your own and we'll pair you up. We'll play nine holes in total with teams eliminated each hole until we have a winner. Then we'll head inside for the famous Lawsonia fish fry.
